Ms Sangeeta Pratti
Silver Oaks International School
I personally always believed that young learners should grow with values and respect for their family, friends and society for a progressive world.
A school is a next place where a child, after his home, is made to foster the importance of values and respect.
Education is the only solution that can progress a child, society, country and the world.
After 10 years of teaching experience in other schools in the country, I joined this school in 2005 and I realised that I am both a teacher and a learner. Learn, I did!
The IB Primary Years Programme. It may be only 8 years of PYP practice but the depths I have gone to and the competencies I have developed by “Making the PYP happen” in all grades from PP1 to VI helped me to become an IB Workshop Leader and a School Visit Team Member.
I have been trained in “Concept-based Learning”, “Sustainability as International-Mindedness”, “Teaching and Learning”, “Inquiry”, “The Learning Environment and the Inquiry”, “Reading and Writing in PYP” by the IBO in India and abroad and a course on “Teaching for Understanding” from Harvard University.
These have given me a deep insight into the programme framework and upskilled my abilities to train teachers and develop the Curriculum in the school.
I have attended an IB Conference in Singapore and participated in SAIBSA meets and Job alike sessions. I have conducted about 50 training programs within the school, led 3 workshops in other IB world schools in India and abroad.
Apart from these my love to read articles, learn from experiences of other educators and participate in discussion forums make me an effective and successful professional.
