Silver Oaks International School

Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.

My Personal Mission
To make the best of this life, to live my dreams and to make education more meaningful and enduring to the young learners. I am a self-motivated, flexible and responsible member of the team @ Silver Oaks.

With a focus to achieve personal and professional goals, I enjoy meeting various challenges. With a clear mind and a practical approach, I drive to see things through completion. I am caring and I don’t hesitate before helping and guiding others. I believe education is not a preparation for life but life itself.

The school is a playground where the students explore and acquire various skills. Knowledge can be acquired but the personality has to be carved. The good personality of the students blends them into responsible citizens thereby contributing to a healthy society and making them into globally accepted citizens. Igniting the young minds, putting them into the thought process and seeing them explore in different ways is thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying.

Learning Experiences
Having done my B.Ed and with an experience of 15 years teaching young adults in various schools and particularly 8 years in Silver Oaks has been a cherishable journey as I have groomed myself into an educator through the various opportunities before me.

IB Workshops
The training I got through the IBO workshops conducted by workshop leaders from across the world in Making PYP happen, Assessments in PYP, Inquiry in PYP, Teaching and Learning and Sustainability as International-Mindedness, Creativity, Critical Thinking and Conceptual Understanding for the 21st-century learning made me a passionate educator.

Quality Leadership Programme conducted by the Confederation of Indian Industry helped me grow professionally and personally and made me into a lifelong learner.

Talks and Presentations
I have been successful in training the teachers, conducting workshops and also giving orientations and presentations to the parents as well as the teachers.

Being a first-time trekker to the Himalayas, climbing an altitude of 13,500 feet in the year 2012 has been the high altitude achievement for me. It’s a dream come true for me having experienced my dream of being in the midst of nature enjoying and feeling the serenity and purity of the Himalayas for one week.

As the Head Primary Wing
My role as the Head of the Primary Wing for 3 years has given me an opportunity to prove myself as a good team leader in planning and executing the teaching learning process with a dynamic team of 32 teachers.

The School has created an intellectually stimulating academic program for the 7th and 8th graders. This means that thematic units are developed around English, science, and social sciences between the textbook and other sources. My meticulous working culture and domain knowledge of English, Science and Social Studies has made me the ISAP Coordinator from session 2012. My challenge is to weave thematic units and stimulate the learning instincts of young people in Grades 7 and 8. Supporting and guiding teachers is my responsibility.
